Absolute
Concept
The Absolute Position Manager uses fixed distances in pips for stop-loss, trailing stop, and take-profit levels. These values do not change dynamically with market volatility but remain constant, providing simple and predictable risk control.
Idea
The strategy behind this manager is consistency: every trade is managed with the same predefined distances. By fixing the stop-loss and take-profit, traders avoid emotional decisions and ensure each position follows a clear risk/reward framework. The trailing stop adds flexibility by locking in profits once the market moves in the desired direction, while still following the fixed pip distance.
Genetic Algorithm Parameters
- Initial Stop-Loss distance (e.g. 10 pips by default)
- Trailing Stop distance (e.g. 5 pips by default)
- Take-Profit distance (e.g. 10 pips by default)
These parameters are automatically adjusted by the genetic algorithm to fit changing market conditions — for example, widening stops in volatile phases or tightening them in calmer markets.
Best suited for
Stable, low-to-medium volatility markets, where fixed levels are not constantly hit by random noise
Traders who prefer clear, predefined risk and reward on every trade
Less effective in highly volatile markets, where adaptive stop/target methods may perform better
